Résumé

The history of Tripoli (Lebanon) has been the subject of a few general works, spanning from Antiquity to the present day, in which little space is devoted to the Phoenician city. The only two specific articles that have been published are those we published on the city in the Persian period, which are already 35 years old. It therefore seems essential to update these two articles by integrating new discoveries and studies in the field, and to extend the study to the entire Phoenician period of the city. Tripoli has been neglected in academic research, but it deserves attention because it was an important and original Phoenician city.
