Abstract

This study brings to light a scarab from the Talayotic site of Sa Morisca located in Mallorca island (Spain). It is carved in hard stone, showing a scene at its base where a male deity is seated before an incense-burner in the act of greeting or blessing. Given its iconographic peculiarities as well as its raw material, this scarab can be included in the Classical Phoenician Scarabs Corpus which brings together scarabs carved in hard stone, characteristic of the Phoenician-Punic scope with similar designs at their bases.
